To ensure you receive Park’s newsletters, please send your email address to development@theparkschool.org. 1953 Barbara Labourot Howard writes, “I often think of Park School and how it really saved my life at a very difficult time and helped me find goals and friendships.” 1956 Laura Damon writes, “Largely due to Park’s influence (after I had graduated from Smith College) I spent a year at home in Buffalo, then President John F. Kennedy announced his hope to establish the Peace Corps. I wrote a letter to his office giving my reasons for wanting to join. I received a call stating that I had been accepted! I went to Ghana, West Africa and taught at a boys Catholic boarding school. That changed my life. I spent a year at Yale (to earn a graduate degree/masters) and taught for the next 40 years! Yea, Park School!!!” 1968 Margo Davis continues to enjoy voiceover, theater, and film performance, has added participatory mural projects, looks forward to returning to meaningful world travel to warm places, and wishes her classmates all the best in hopes that we can all see the whites of each other’s eyes in 2023. 1970 Vicenta (Meme) Scarlett Hancock lives in Richmond, VA. She has been married to husband Frank since 1976. They have two children, David and Martina. David has a 16 month old son named Arthur. Martina has 7 dogs. Vicenta worked for 32 years for a mortgage company. Since retiring 8 years ago, she has been enjoying her second business making quilts, as well as teaching sewing, and volunteering through the Red Cross and at her church. She hopes to make it to the 55th Reunion in 2025! 1971 Duane Sevillian’s late father, Henry Sevillian, was honored by the City of Buffalo late last summer when Mayor Byron Brown renamed the track at the Johnnie B-Wiley field after him. As a track coach, Sevillian touched the lives of hundreds of student-athletes. Duane’s sister Debra ’73 sadly passed away in 2019. 1974 Cynthia Pearce LeMay recently published a book titled, “Millennials and Conflict in the Workplace - Understand the Unique Traits of the Now Generation.” She holds a BA in Economics from Union College, and MBA from Syracuse University, and a Ph.D. in International Conflict Management from Kennesaw State University. “At Park, a love for learning was instilled in me that continues throughout my lifetime. But Park does more than prepare students for college, it prepares you for the world. While I gained significant academic skills at Park, I also benefited tremendously by being a member of The Park School community. Park is an environment that fosters curiosity, diversity, environmental awareness, and responsible citizenship. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend Park,” she said. 1981 Joel Van Liew appeared at the Arizona Theatre Company in the play “Woman in Jeopardy” by Wendy McCleod in January/ February 2022. 1995 After graduating from Park, James Burnett went on to graduate from St. Lawrence University and Norwich University. He enlisted in the United States Army in 2003 ahead of the invasion of Iraq. Since then he has been deployed in support of combat operations on four separate occasions along with multiple tours overseas to the Middle East and South East Asia. He is still on active duty and currently supporting operations from a location forward in the Middle East. 2015 Aidan Powell married Lauren Gould in July 2022 with lots of Park friends in attendance! Liana Ellegate is the head of social media management for The Waggle Foundation, a 501c3 organization that raises money for emergency vet bills for underprivileged individuals and rescue organizations. She currently resides in Prague, CZ. 2018 Grace Coppola was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the Spring 2022 Semester. James Ellegate graduated summa cum laude from SUNY @ Buffalo in May 2022. He accepted a fellowship at Purdue University into a PhD program in Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. 2019 Jo Stevens was named to the dean’s list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2022. She is a senior at Bates College in Maine majoring in environmental studies. Elena Collier-Hezel was part of a University of Washington boat that finished third overall at Women’s Championship Eights in October at the Head of the Charles Regatta. Summer Harris took part in Buffalo State’s spring semester’s production of “The Tragedy of Macbeth.” Ebuka Nnagbo was named to the 2021-22 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court. The NABC Honors Court recognizes men’s basketball players of junior, senior, and graduate academic standing who completed the 2021-22 academic year with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or higher. Ebuka attends Felician University in New Jersey and is majoring in biology with a cumulative GPA of 3.26. Nicole Ellegate graduated summa cum laude with a BA from Clarkson University in December 2022. She was honored to serve as the commencement speaker for her graduation ceremony. She is now in a Professional Assistantship with Ignite at Clarkson consulting with start up companies while attaining her master’s degree. 2020 Fiona Stewart is spending the fall semester of her junior year abroad in Granada, Spain, after having spent a summer intensively studying Arabic in Jordan. 2021 Colleen Stewart is in her second year at William & Mary, 2022 In September, Elijah Bader-Gregory was elected as one of four senators that represent the University of Rochester Class of 2026. He was also elected to be one of eight class council members and serve as business manager for all 2026 college events.
